Default transmission light

I was driving today and my transmission control module light turned on and im guessing the traction control light too its an arrow that goes around almost a full circle. I have an automatic transmission. Maybe transmission is about to go out? I have a friend that works for snap on tools and he has a code scanning kit that scans everything. So im going to scan it later on today and post the codes on here.

Maybe it just needs needs fluid and filter change?

Not familiar with this magical snap on code reader, but the TCU code reading takes BMW software to read. If you find an aftermarket solution, I'd like to know the exact snap on model, etc. The INPA interface will show TCU codes and also the dealer's GT1 and newer systems.

Have you ever checked the fluid level of the transmission? Mileage?
