Default help with manual trans. switching

ok i have a auto 97 ti. and now that i got a new intake installed i wanna take the car to the 1/4 mile track, i know how to use manual. but i have a question
when the car reaches 4th gear on manual option it is in drive and i dont know if it will switch to 5th gear in drive in manual mode. this is kind of a stupid question i guess but can u help me

you won't need to use 5th gear in the 1/4 mile.

u really think so, cuz i never raced at 1/4 mile. but i still would like to know if the transmission will switch to 5th gear in manual mode.
