Default Custom supercharger for m44 1.9

Hi, this is my first post on this forum.
My car is a 318is (not ti, but the engine is the same ) m44 1.9 .
I have see that the FI on BMWs in America is very frequent.
I'm thinking for doing a custom supercharger kit with the original eprom and originals iniectors (as DASC system), only with a fpr.
The DASC is a good kit for 200 bhp of power, but it's have a custom manifold for move the "throttle valve" upstream the supercharger. Now I don't have removed the manifold and there isn't enought space for move the throttle valve. Can I leave it before the supercharger? It make noises? I have read that is request a sort of by-pass valve. Where I can buy it?
And, the last question, what fpr I need?

P.S.: I have buy a mercedes 230k supercharger on ebay (eaton M62), an intercooler from a bmw 330diesel and the complete clutch kit from a e36 euro m3.

thanks,
bye
sorry for the english, I'm italian

Ive been thinking the same. I talked to someones who has done it on bimmerforums.com sorry dont remember who. I know it will work but you must take into cansideration the problems with custom fitting it to your car. It shouldnt be that hard and will need little fabrication atleast.

What year is your car? if before 96 its a m42 after 96 m44.

good luck and update us on the progress///

This would require a great deal of work. I am not going to say impossible, because it certainly is possible. It will just take some work.

You will still need a custom manifold, Or custom pimping to get the boost air from the blower to the intercooler, and then to the intake manifold. Kep in mind that at the sametime it all needs to fit under the hood.

Now it is my understanding that the Mercedes S/C used a clutch to control movement where as the DASC uses a bypass valve. You mentioned the power of the DASC so I assume that you are wanting to make more. Useing the stock Eprom and injectors and a AFPR. Remember that you are only going to make as much power as the injectors can flow. You can add all the air you want but without fuel you are going to be dead in the water.

I don't use a custom manifold, because I don't remove the original inlet manifold of the engine. I need a bit of silicone hoses as SAMCO( but they are much expensives )

Yes, the pulley of my s/c have a electromagnetic clutch: when I give it 12v of power the clutch move the pulley, otherwise not. If I don't want connect it to the "starter" 12v, I can bolt it for work as a normal pulley.

I don't want more much power of the dasc, but almost the same, because I have a intercooler and the DASC doesn't have it.

Yes, but if Downing Atlanta do the kit with only a FPR and not Eprom or injectors, I think that it will work good the same. I don't use the car for RACE I use she for "daily driver", so I want much torque and power at mid-range revs. I don't race everyday, I drive on relax and I don't want a car with the power at 7000 revs.

- Can I have the throttle downstream the s/c if I have a by-pass valve?
- Have you suggestion for the hoses?
- Do you say where I can buy DASC spare parts (bypass valve and FPR)?

bye and thank you
