Default CEL Help needed to pass emissions

I swapped in a 328 motor about a year ago, and now it is time to pass emissions. I have gotten rid of all of the codes except one:

p0451- P0451 Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Range/Performance"

I know this has to do with the fuel vapor purge valve (which is installed, but disconnected form the vent line when it started to collapse my gas tank). From what I understand, this sensor does not exist on the 318ti, but it does on the 328 that I got the engine from. Has anyone figured out a way to fool the computer or hook up the sensor?

Would really appreciate it if someone who has dealt with this one would chime in.

Is there any chance that is the same code for a poorly sealing gas cap?

I think it might be, but I know for a fact that the gas cap seals because when I reconnected the purge solenoid, it crushed the gas tank like a soda can and the gas cap was stuck on there pretty good (was getting the code before that).

That is a normal fault. I had the code written out of the software.
I don't know any other way.

Well, just an update for anyone who runs into this problem. I sent the dme off to TRM to have the sensor programed out. We'll see if it works.

I had the SAP, fuel pressure sensor, exhaust flap all written out of the code.

Ok, so I got the dme back form TRM, and the p0451 is gone. Now I have another problem which is p0500 vehicle speed sensor and Im stumped. I had it before and cleared it and it didn't come back but here it is again.

Any thoughts?

Have both problems on my m50 swapped obd1 1995 ti. speed sensors get dirty and the sensor is cheap enough but taking it out is ..... difficult.

where is the charcoal canister located - I read that it should be behind driver left panel - opened that up and there is nothing there ...... wtf, but on pass side, the expansion tank (with blue hose attached) is there so it must have either been relocated to the front or was never in that location in 95's .... will go down and check more thoroughly because that would be where the purge valve is attached to....this is bumfluffery i say

programming it out seems like a good idea though .... this it does not affect performance.....

Where is the speed sensor exactly? Is it the one on the diff?

Regarding the charcoal canister, I also do not know exactly where it is. I think it is right under the car on the drivers side, at least that is where the blue fule line that I thought was supposed to connect to the purge valve went. It is round, and has fuel lines coming from it, but I really dont know and realoem does not have any good diagrams showing the location.

I'm pretty sure it is directly under the drivers seat under the car.

Going to clean the diff sensor tonight, fingers crossed. If it were an abs sensor, it would show an abs light, correct?

Yeah, as long as you manage to take them out undamaged....and yes, the abs light would come on .....abs is integrated into braking system and cannot be deleted methinks, not sure tho

Well here's the sensor. Had some sludge on it which I cleaned off. It usually takes 30-40 miles before the light comes on again after I clear the codes.

Think it's time to replace your fluid?
