Default Is it really monetarily worth it????

So I've lined up a decent donor car. Done some research and now I'm starting to second guess myself. I do plan on keeping the car for a while and I'd love to have the extra power on tap. But what would a clean swapped car be worth after it's all said and done? I'm planning on the 328 motor/manual trans/brake setup all swapped out. I see some for sale for around 7-10K but do they get sold for that much? If so then it's worth it..if they only sell for around 5 then I'd be lucky to break even, Hmmm. I still think I'm gonna do the swap so I can say I've done it. But if or when I sold the car what would be a good price range to consider? Its a 05/95 base with 99 sport interior, zero rust, never in an accident, and under 120K miles...I also plan on the M front bumper and have a M-tech rear bumper being prepped for paint.

Any Ideas Folks?

Realistically you'd probably get 5-6k for it, any more and you're looking a decently setup M3. I almost sold my TI to pick up a turbo M3 for $6500, and that had refinished style 5's and IIRC bilstein coilovers

Just my .02 . The way I look at cars is if you can mod it and break even, then you're lucky and it's worth it. You need to realize you never get your money back that you invest in any type of hobby

Yeah, I race jet skis and I NEVER get close to breaking even after a season or two on a basically new ski fully modded, so I know how that goes. I think I'll still do the swap just to do it.
I figured the asking prices were a little high on some of the cars I've seen and that around 5 should be more realistic. Heck, if I can get a smg M3 for @ 12K why would i buy a 15 year old chassis for 10???
Thanks.
