I have the 3.46LSD, but in your case, the 3.25LSD would be better. Plus, the 3.25 was used in more recent models, so used parts will be newer.

Go with the 3.25 you'll be happier once you boost the S52.

If you go boost i would go lower like 3.07 or a 2.93lsd.

3.46 is way to short for that power.

(ask me how I know....)

Well I just got back from picking up the diffs. Both are in great shape. Spent 40 bucks in gas and half a day in traffic, but in the end I walked away with two great deals. Paid 200 bucks for the 3.46 LSD and get this, 55 bucks for the 3.25 LSD!!! Check this out:
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/pts/834511830.html

So the consensus says keep the 3.25 and sell the 3.46. I think I'm gonna do just that. I hope to get atleast $250 for the 3.46 LSD to cover gas and PITA fee. I'd like to sell it locally, but if I have to ship it I'll probably try to get more.

More good news, my Bentley manual arrived today. So tomorrow the project resumes. My new oil pan should be here any day now, but there's really no rush as I can install that last, right before I drop the motor in.

Nice - I hope you get the torque and chirps and boner you are looking for.

Well, I don't mean to suggest you are looking for boner.

Going out to work on it for a couple hours this evening. Need to spend less time here and more time in the garage, lol.

If I was in your hood, I'd roll by and hold the light for you or something.

Anything would be more fun than chasing down wiring gremlins in my 1981 BMW bike and Apple computer at the same time.
