This is what a set of dirty filters look like.
These things are a !@#$% pain in the ass to replace, I cut myself twice on the sharp edges. __________________

I inspect them at every oil change and replace then at every inspection interval. It's amazing how dirty they get. __________________ ...steven

I've been thinking of replacing those.

I replaced mine a couple months ago and it's a pain in the ass to put all the screws back in. I never cut myself on the,it's just in a tight space. When i took mine out it was caked with crap,looked worse than the picture above. But you do notice a big difference when changing them. $20 a pop x2 to do them.
K & N filters do not make any for the cabin filter,you must be thinking air filter. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active

I just drove to work, it makes a huge difference. For example, when I started the car, I usually crank the A/C to get the air cooled. The moment I turned the fan to position 4, it felt like a blizzard just erupted in my car. I immediately turned it down to position 2. I didn't notice a difference really, I dont think-in terms of blower output. But it was more for piece of mind.
