Has anybody done a tranny swap before and if so, what should I look out for and how much money am I looking at. Also, would the tranny swap cause any problems down the road if I were to do an S52 engine swap? Thanks a lot | | | 02-13-2007, 10:43 PM | #2 | doesn't care about you. Parts would not be a huge issue with me, its the shop costs. So waht are the steph, take engine out remove tranny, hook up new tranny; then put clitch in, BAM? I am sure there are alot of other things. WEll its just a thought atm... So 2 grand, is that with the shop work or just the parts? | | | 02-20-2007, 02:44 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | You could easily do it yourself for 2k. I completed mine under $1500, but I did all the work myself. There is a trans and items needed for sale in Cincinnati: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14424 Check the Trans Swap thread on Bimmerforums, its very good. Do your research... __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
