tranny swap

I have an automatic transmission and am looking to do a swap to a stock 5 speed. Has anybody done a tranny swap before and if so, what should I look out for and how much money am I looking at. Also, would the tranny swap cause any problems down the road if I were to do an S52 engine swap?

I HAVE been thinking the same thing, I am guessing I should go for a 5spd m3 tanny, so later when I upgrade to a s50 there should be no prob. Parts would not be a huge issue with me, its the shop costs. So waht are the steph, take engine out remove tranny, hook up new tranny; then put clitch in, BAM? I am sure there are alot of other things.

WEll its just a thought atm...


So 2 grand, is that with the shop work or just the parts?

You could easily do it yourself for 2k. I completed mine under $1500, but I did all the work myself.
