Default Engine Tick/Click Every 15 Seconds at RPM Over ~2000

Hey everyone,

My car has started making this awful ticking noise. At first I thought it might be oil related, but I had that changed a few days ago so I feel like that's ruled out.

I've noticed that it ticks every 14 or 15 seconds and only at RPMs of about 2000 or higher. It does this regardless of whether I am driving or if I'm just revving in neutral.

Any thoughts on what this might be?

it started shortly after an oil change? do you know what brand/viscosity was in there before and what's in there now? if you changed brands or viscosities I'd go back to what you had before

It actually started before the oil change but has since continued.

Mine does something similar, but it's mainly at idle and only after it warms up. I'm thinking maybe timing chain tensioner or that valve thingie. Is yours noticeable more from one side of the engine? Mine is more noticeable on the driver's side, so I doubt its lifter noise.

I'm pretty sure it's not the chain tensioner because I think that makes a much faster ticking sound that eventually goes away after idling.

My sound seems like it's coming from the middle or the passenger's side.

Oddly enough, it hasn't made this noise since Thursday, so now I'm more confused.
