I am assuming by your statement that you are using MySQL. Prolly just need to add some fields into the user profile (I am not sure how you have it set up). If you want I can do some more brainstorming on how to implement this. Let me know. __________________ Custom Cold Air Intake, Custom IAT controller, SuperSprint Exhaust, High Flow CAT, Long Tube Header, H&R 'Race' Lowering springs, Short Shifter, JB Racing Lightweight Flywheel, M3 Clutch Kit w/Rogue Semi-Metalic Disk, Zex Nitrous System, Euro Clear Corners, Elipsoid Headlights w/Halos, Eyebrows, Window Tinting, Invisible Bra | | | 03-16-2006, 12:33 PM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by 318tibimmer Hey Steve if you need some help let me know, I have some PHP programing experience. That is how the garage dropdown menu works. I just need to see an example of how it should look. Then what do I do, disable sigs for this new one? Or just expand the garage pull down? __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti 2003 MINI Cooper S 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-16-2006, 01:56 PM | #20 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | I think modification of the garage pull-down makes the most sense. Maybe throwing rocks at a hornet's nest here, but for those fortunate enough to have multiple tis, the ability to add additional cars to the garage as well, with their own list of mods... I personally have too many mods (well, better described as 'deviations from delivered condition' as the "mods" are predominantly BMW parts) to fit in the garage at the moment... I had asked you (Steve) about expanding the garage previously, (which may, or may not have been done- I honestly have not been back to it since it was introduced) but I like this new idea better anyway. | | | 03-16-2006, 02:21 PM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by J!m I had asked you (Steve) about expanding the garage previously, (which may, or may not have been done- I honestly have not been back to it since it was introduced) but I like this new idea better anyway. | The original author of the mod hasn't done much with it. It would be better if it word wrapped. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti 2003 MINI Cooper S 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-16-2006, 04:24 PM | #22 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! The signature is only the output. What must first be considered is what specific named upgrades will be listed, then the method that members input their info, then the place it will be visible to view. There are already people throwing out comments about unique modifications and custom mods. Let's keep things in perspective: 1. 99.9% of us only have one 318ti 2. 99% do not have 6 cyliner engines 3. 80-90% of mods are done with factory parts or purchased upgrade parts. There is always time to add the custom neon air freshner mod to the list AFTER the more common and useful mod data is listed. This ME attitude gets annoying. If you can't afford to do any mods that cost money, then sit back and learn. I have minor things I have done to my car, but I do not need to make a modification record on it, unless it's something alot of people have or plan to do. And that would be on request; not demanded. The signature can have the defined mods as hypetext links that jump to another page. This page could list, pics, video, sound, cost of parts, places to buy and a full write up. What's important is to create the mechanism inwhich to input the info. Steve can create the heirarchy of mods, based on the same already broken down forum sections I.E. CAI, Transmission, Suspension etc. Everyone please stop the ME attitude and let's just get something going. Improvement is always ongoing.
