Default rear shelf

i know theres probably lot of people out there that have done this and a lot of posts on it but i couldnt really find any good ones with a write up. I want to install 6x9 4-way speakers on the rear shelf but i dont really know how to cut into the shelf. How did everyone on here do it? What tools will i need? Also, i sometimes for work pack the back and need to remove the shelf...how can i set it up so i can easily disconnect the speakers and remove the shelf?

Use molex or Delphi connectors for the speaker wiring disconnect. I'd use a 4 pin for each side and double up on the pins so two pins per wire.

Roto zip cuts plastic, light sheetmetal and fiberglass nicely.

NAPA sells Delphi (Often referred to as GM watertight)
Radio shack sells molex, been around forever reliable not as pretty.

You buy them based on wire guage, so you need to know the size wire you intend to use. I'm not a car audiophile (I do that at home.. )
So I used trailer light connectors for mine in my Jeep.
