Just a quick question. As I understand it, I don't need to worry about existing EWS system in my car with the 413 red label ECU, do I? __________________ =F.N.B.= /!\CAUTION/!\ Low Flying Engines Last edited by Fuzzy Nutbucket; 02-20-2011 at 03:35 AM. | | | 02-13-2011, 08:25 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | If you install the 413 red label, you wont have EWS issues, if you do, cut the ews wire on the chassis side to the DME, that should completely deactivate it. If that doesnt work and you still cant get the starter to run, you can go to the EWS unit itself, take the inlet wire and outlet wire and solder them together to remove EWS completely from the system. The chip and antenna do not have to be removed from the system. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 02-13-2011, 08:41 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: OR, USA Posts: 61 | Thanks!! Is there any process for bleeding the fuel lines that needs doing or should it self bleed? Any thing else to look-into for getting spark as well. Are there any other common things/issues to check/look-into for this? I really want this running. lol So close but so far!! TIA!! __________________ =F.N.B.= /!\CAUTION/!\ Low Flying Engines Last edited by Fuzzy Nutbucket; 02-18-2011 at 01:46 AM. | | | 02-21-2011, 05:02 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: OR, USA Posts: 61 | Ok nevermind, I got it started.... If you cut the wire to disable te ews will the factory alarm system still work? And if not can you just buy an after market security system? | | | 02-24-2011, 06:23 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by Swapped TI I have a question. You might run into an issue if your alarm has starter kill that runs through the EWS start kill but you would have to eliminate this with the EWS disable anyways... | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
