In sydney, the law is we are only allowed 2" up and down from the stock size of the rims that come with the car. For example. If the stock car came with 15" wheels, we are only allowed to go up to a max of 17" or down to 13". I was wondering if anyone noes wat the stock size of the 1996 318ti rims were? im hoping they were 17". Thanks, Jason. | | | 09-24-2008, 02:05 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | either 15" or 16", the sport model came with the 16"s, post a picture so we can tell what model you have | | | 09-24-2008, 04:51 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | Quote: In sydney, the law is we are only allowed 2" up and down from the stock size of the rims that come with the car. | thats the stupidest vechile law ive ever heard lol __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 09-24-2008, 10:00 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Sydney Posts: 6 | i dnt think its the sports. | | | 09-24-2008, 12:15 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Yeah, you have the sport package. In the US the sport package had 16" wheels stock. And couldn't you just say that you ordered Motorsport wheels (17s) when you bought the car? How would they know? It would be the "stock" wheel from BMW. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 09-24-2008, 02:56 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by spidertri Yeah, you have the sport package. No need to argue over this. | | | 09-24-2008, 05:52 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Maybe this is a US-only thing but inside the driver's door is a sticker with the VIN and recommended tire pressures. It gives pressures for various tire sizes, including those that fit both the 15" and 16" wheels regardless of what actually came on the car. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 09-26-2008, 07:36 AM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Sydney Posts: 6 | thanks guys... yeh i wanted to noe if my 18" are fine... i meant to say "i hope they were 16"s.. lol..typo. yeh we got some stupid laws here....
