Default H.I.D. Installation

Hey guys im installing my HIDs today but i have run into a problem, i do not know where to connect the black and red ends to. Cant i just plug the stock low beam connector to the ballast? since the stock wiring is thinner is there a chance i might fry the wires? Basically i want to know what to do with these black and red wires.

I got the phillips kit and plugged directly into the ballast. Not sure what the other wire is for.

I'm not sure where the other wire hooks in. TRhe instructions didn't show how to use it and the lights worked when I hooked right into them directly.
