I am looking for a 1999, Cali Roof, M-Tek, Heated Seat car. Color, i'm negotiable on with preference towards white first. Transmission, I prefer 5 speed as first choice, but will live with an auto if it's in the right car. I'm new to this forum and the ti world. I own several BMW's and LOVE the cars! I'm also a certified "Car Nut" by all means. In my spare time, I put together Road Touring events around the NW with our Club. | | | 05-25-2008, 06:29 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | FWIW, all 99s had the M-tech package even though they were listed as base models, any particular reason you just want that one specific model year? | | | 05-25-2008, 07:31 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Tigard, Oregon Posts: 5 | WTB '99 ti I pretty much like the options and such that the 99's had. Also, I like to stick to last production year or maybe year before, to get a vehicle that has had all the production updates, etc., done. I know that I'm looking for a needle in a haystack here. | | | 05-25-2008, 07:35 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by camtscott I know that I'm looking for a needle in a haystack here. | agreed, IIRC there were only about 500 1999 tis imported to the US, if you add in the cali roof, heated seats, 5 speed transmission and preference for the color white that number is even less | | | 05-25-2008, 07:55 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Tigard, Oregon Posts: 5 | So I'm curious about something. Do you know where I can find the actual production numbers listed on the internet? I would be most interested in seeing the actual production numbers of these cars in 98 and 99 | | | 05-25-2008, 08:04 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I've seen it on this site before, it was a long time ago so I don't remember where, someone else might know | | | 05-25-2008, 08:16 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | bmw na will be able to give you a rough guesstimate. but its hard to figure out exact numbers. wish i knew exactly how many club sports were made but i would bet you wont find that car with the options you want. i would say broaden your search to a few years and lean towards finding a cali top sport and then adding the heated seats yourself and maybe upgrading a few things to the newer options. __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 05-25-2008, 09:19 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | funny thing is that i have an alaska blue ti, with the m-tech package, w/ sunroof but no cali top, w/ the heated seats. sad part is that its an automatic. its a late 97 production so i was told it was probably considered as a 98 model so it is possible. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! It DOES have the heated seats, 100K on the miles, Red and black interior, M-Tech package, White, 5 speed and Cali Roof. Just too damn bad it's a beater and is being misrepresented.....just goes to show you that with an asking price of only 4500, it IS too good to be true. | | | 05-25-2008, 09:27 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by camtscott Red and black interior | that's the uber-rare clubsport interior how much was it for the car? | | | 05-25-2008, 11:20 PM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Tigard, Oregon Posts: 5 | they were asking 4995 for the car and were willing to sell at 4500. Massachussetts car....has some bubbling in the paint above the wheel arches in front. At the price, and if it would have been the '99, I was still willing to buy. But not with the one rear collision and two frontal collisions with one of those actually setting off the air bags. I'll just keep searching. | | | 05-25-2008, 11:29 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | 1998 Sport and 1999 are identical except for the 3 spoke ///M steering wheel. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 05-25-2008, 11:39 PM | #13 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by camtscott So I'm curious about something. I also have a Dinan software, intake and a red/black millpoint interior in storage, just cannot find those side door panels with the airbag covers. I paid too much for it a year ago, but if you wanted to throw me a number I wouldn't be past selling. Should mention it needs a throwout bearing in the tranny/clutch will be addressed soon. PM me if you want. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | WTB: Bent OEM Wheel | CirrusSR22 | US and North America | 5 | 11-25-2008 04:14 PM | |
