Default Rattle

My car seems to rattle at about 3 grand. The noise comes from under the steering column. I can't seem to find a thread on this problem. It only starts to rattle at 3,000 and when I push the clutch it goes away. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what could be causing this. Thanks

Hmm IDK what to say, you might have something broken in the steering col om, or you could be low on Power steering. I would get that checked out.

the noise is being caused by the resonant vibration from the engine at a certain rev speed,..

the engine at 3000 makes it most "activity" at that range, it can also be noticed in the exhaust note.

pressing in on the cluch will eliminaté the noise as the chassis is disconnected from the engine when you press in the clutch,

if you can, take the cover off the underside of the steering column cowling

then see if its associated with the wiring arrangement under there

other possibilities could be eng. or trans mts. or flex disc or driveshaft center bearing.
