Default think compressor is shot...

ok as the title states i think my compressor is shot but if somebody thinks something else after reading the desrciption please chime in. ive been driving with no ac for a few months now because when i bought it, it was pretty good then would make this awkward noise every once in a while and finally i just admitted it was dead. my air still blows but its not cold at all. cooler than the normal air in florida right now but i sweat if i roll my windows up and im sick of it.

if you guys think it is indeed the compressor, how much are they or where could i buy one? and how hard is it to replace this?

if it sounds like something else, that would be great to know, ive never really had a car with working ac but this summer is especially hot with no tint

Default Re: Compressor Dead

It is possible it is your compressor, or you could have a slow leak and simply need more freon. Have you had the a/c charged recently? If you get a charging kit the gauge it comes with should tell you if there are pressure problems linked to your compressor. Or if you take it to any auto shop, they could refill the freon and check for leaks as well. You don't have o take it to a Euro-Auto specialist. Hope this helps.
