Default Cold weather squeaking

On cold mornings when I start my ti I always heard a sqeaking sound from the front of the engine at idle. When I had it taken in to get new rotors I asked my friend who was the mech. to check it out, I thought it was the fan belt. He said he didnt see anything and didnt know what would be making that sound. Dose anyone know what that sound is?

i would think something related to the belts too, possibly one of the pulleys or a tensioner. how many miles on your ti? belts look good yet?

lol ... that's why my daily average is over 5! lol ... i will overtake steven (the site admin) soon ... i think the only thing that says is that i need to get out more. working from home is a dangerous thing

I know, I've been working from home now for the last couple months, trying to stay away until after 5.....but I can't!

i cant do it either...i cant leave this site!

i cant even check the forums because once im halfway done, there are new posts up top to read and i have to start over!

it takes me FOREVER before i can actually leave feeling satisfied ive checked all new posts!

it's too cold! i'm be cooking some more parts with my heat gun tomorrow though (probably during my lunch hour) if that makes you feel better. gotta get under the car soon and remove the guibo and center bearing so i can drop the driveshaft. then remove the power steering rack and hoses (to more easily get at the motor mounts) before refreshing them. lots of work!

You need to quit talking about it and just do it. It's not that bad. I had the whole sh1t on and off in less than an hour, including diff, driveshaft, exhaust, shields, etc...

Motor mount - put a 2x4 on a jack, jack up the oil pan and change the mount. You won't damage the pan, the motor isn't very hard to push up, especially if you have a bad mount to begin with.

i'm anal retentive, everything takes me 3 times as long as it should. since i have 212k on it (almost all from WI), there's a good bit of rust that i'm removing and painting with POR15 at the same time. i'm also refreshing a lot of the bits and pieces with new gear. don't worry, i'll get it all done (and post pics as i go)!

You might as well drain and refill the diff while you're under there. Replace the fuel filter if it's old too. Where did you live in WI?

i grew up south of madison (between oregon and brooklyn), lived in madison for a number of years while i was going to college there, then moved to the milwaukee area and then finally union grove.

the repair originally started as a replacement of my rust fuel lines so i'm definitely installing a new fuel filter i have redline LSD fluid in the diff now. i'm wondering if royal purple makes a LSD fluid? going to put royal purple syncromax in the trans while i'm under there too.
