Mine has been on for a while and I'm not quite sure why. It just came on one day. __________________ good girls are bad girls that never get caught | | | 01-16-2010, 08:52 PM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Land of the Vikings Posts: 2,700 | problem is, do they run a diagnostic when the car goes in for yearly inspection ? because it will show up also, on ignition the airbag lamp should light.. if it doesnt , and the tester sees, then he will have a problem. my best advice is to get the co2 cylinder from a breaker for a snip at 20-30 bucks, and be done with it.. but before you do, just make sure the problem isnt because a plug has fallen out ect.. __________________ Vin Number decode and Retrofit Pdfs Available Free ! I don't advocate this, however. | | | 01-16-2010, 11:43 PM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | The problem as, I understand it, is that a lot of the faults will cause the airbags to deploy, as a fail-safe, when they don't need to. This could be an expensive. I thought it was a pretty dim light, but didn't think any other illumination was on.. from the guage pointer or something I suppose. | | | 03-09-2010, 09:29 PM | #25 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Calgary Posts: 1 | There is light bleeding from somewhere. Stuff the hole with light cloth, cotton etc. that will block out the light completely. Hope that helps! | | | 08-01-2010, 06:02 PM | #26 | Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Atlanta, GA Posts: 97 | I went to the car wash place last week and one of the washers snagged one of the wires under my seat and triggered my SRS light. I know there is a way to reset the oil change lights with the Pac-Man looking thing and a paper clip. Is there a way to do the same thing on different connections for the SRS light? Thanks | | | 08-01-2010, 06:03 PM | #27 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by 318pilot I went to the car wash place last week and one of the washers snagged one of the wires under my seat and triggered my SRS light. Thanks | As already stated ad nauseum ... Even if you COULD reset it with a paperclip, you wouldn't want to until you knew WHY it illuminated. It probably is just a loose connection, but you need to be sure! | | | 08-02-2010, 01:57 AM | #29 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Earth Posts: 178 | There is in fact a backup airbag light on m '96 TI.!! It is soldered straight to the circuit board but easy to remove/replace. (assuming you took the cluster apart) Also took the time to remove the headlight on light buzzer.. only thing is you might forget the turn signals are on.. | | | 04-30-2013, 04:42 AM | #30 | Member Join Date: Mar 2013 Location: Pelham, NY, USA Posts: 90 | NY does not look at or care about srs light for inspection. Not all cars have an srs light, it does not show up in OBD2 connection so they dont care You may want to check, might be a mechanic just trying to make money | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
