Default clunking noise :(

hope someone can help,

ive noticed that i get a clunking noise from around the rear end on gear shifts ( mostly on 1st > 2nd > 3rd )

also, íf i jab the throttle i get the same clunking noise.

its a subtle sound, but solid-not tingy

likely suspects are,

RTABs
topmounts
Diff bush?
prop bearing?
prop doughnut/ guibo?
gearbox mount bushes?

im not realy sure where to start.
can anyone confirm the noise and what its from?

cheers in adv.

Jack it up put some stands under it and start checking, all the potential causes for this are to be found by grabbing and twisting and shaking.

I'm betting, One of your list is right, just have to look. Your definitely headed the right direction.

I just had to same problem the other day, but it went away after I drove it for a while. That's the first time it has happened before and it happened to be the coldest day it's been in a while. Man winter brings out the worst in my car! I really hope you get your issue resolved. I'm not sure we had the same sound though. Mine was more of a low pitched constant rattle. The radio easily covered it up, but their so DAMNED ANNOYING!. Good luck man.
