Default Passenger wont open from inside or out....

Alright so heres what happened my buddy got out of the car the seatbelt was hanging out and he shut the door on the seat belt.... Well i though he shut the door but when i came back to the door it was open and wouldnt shut so i flipped the latch in the door and shut it well come to find the handle on the putside of the door is completely loose.... The handle on the inside pulls all the right levers and everything is still connected but it doesnt open still.... After looking in the door i cannot tell what broke or what the outside handle came loose from?? Any ideas or help guy??? Thanks

Something similar happened to my neighbors car.

I think you have to flip the latch in the door jamb again but with the handle held up.

Or something.

Ok, I searched "show threads" and the "show posts and this wouldnt come up, but when i typed in "door wont open" and hit enter to start a new post , this thread came up. is it really that picky that you have to use an appostrophe ( ' ) ? Talk about the search engine being a grammar nazi

My drivers side door wont open. It worked fine before work, but after work the exterior door handle lifts up and stays up .. it needs to be moved back into the default down position .. and wont open. I tried it on the inside and it wont open on the inside either. The doorlock pin thing (that you push to lock the door) in unlocked position, rose ever so slightly. Ive tried locking and unlocking it a few times to see if that would help, and it still does nothing. An earlier post mentioned flipping the lever with the door open, and in the lifted position, but that cant be done if the door wont open in the first place. this sucks, its like 20 degrees outside and I really have no where to check it out.

Can the interior door panel even be removed with the door shut ?

Oddly enough it was a simple fix. I held up on the exterior doorhandle, and locked and unlocked it with the key, lifted the handle and it opened right up.

weird
