Stuck half shafts!!!

I cannot loosen the nut on the wheel end of the half shalf!!! The nut is so shallow that its difficult to some torque on it without pulling off. Anyone had this issue before? if so how did you overcome this issue??

^^^+1, there's a nut lock/retaining ring that you need to pry out with a flathead and a hammer. These rings almost always get destroyed and should be replaced with new ones.
