 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
I have been troubleshooting a high idle issue for about a week now. I Recently purchased a 95 TI and had to replace the wiring harness. Today I finally decided to explore the option of the ECT causing my idle issues as my idle issues are worse upon a cold start. There are two sensors, one at the front of the head (blue) and one just behind it about the middle of the head (black).
From what I understand the blue one sends a signal to the temperature gauge and the black one sends a signal to the DME. When I replaced the wiring harness I assumed that the plug with blue in it went to the blue ECT and the one with black goes to the black ECT. This morning I decided to swap the plugs and see if I noticed a difference and I did. My idle seems to be normal now. Does this sound normal. Can anyone provide some insight on this? |
