Default Water leak??

I purchased my 1997 ti about 4 weeks ago and all seems well with one exception. In the left rear of the "trunk" there is a plastic compartment. The underneath of this collects water when I'm driving in the rain. It appears to be coming from above. Any one have this problem? Any suggestions?
BTW great forum, I've learned tons just following threads.

Is it possible that the antenna grommet is leaking? That rubber can get hard over time and lose it's ability to seal. Part #4 Here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...17&hg=65&fg=30

Did you do a carfax? Check to see the hatch lid is aligned properly. If it is, then it's probably the seal around the antenna or the weather strip around the hatch. Our cars tend to collect and hold water under the hatch lid. When you open it after a wash, it usually dumps water all over the place.

Thanks. The hatch appears to be aligned properly. The antenna grommet looks a little suspect, I think I will try replacing it.
