Default Hit the brakes, radio shuts off

So I bought this car from a kid who got it from a kid, and they liked to tinker. Most of it's good stuff, car runs great for its miles. It has developed a quirk though that I cannot figure out.

Every time I hit the brakes, the radio reboots.
The brake lights work, the dash will slightly dim while brakes are pushed, and the radio will work 100% normal if I unplug the brake lights behind the peddle.

I'm at a loss of where to go next. Or should I just take it to a radio shop and have them cut in a different power source for the radio, and pretend nothing is wrong haha

They probably pulled radio (aftermarket I assume?) power off the brake light switch, and when the current drops due to lights coming on, the radio reboots.

Go radio delete.
