Given the long time between group buys, if you are thinking about this now is the time. First $380 takes in (shipped in the US). | | | 05-24-2013, 03:37 PM | #183 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2013 Location: Sarasota FL Posts: 12 | Why you have any kits left is beyond me. This should be on the must have list of any m42 owner not keeping their car completely stock for concourse reasons. | | | 12-01-2013, 02:55 PM | #184 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2013 Location: Sag Harbor, NY Posts: 192 | Quote: Originally Posted by rob_e30 I've not posted here in a while, but now that I have figured out a PnP COP kit for E36 based engines, I figured you guys (and gals) might be interested. It is such a huge improvement over the stock setup that I wanted to say thank you again. | | | 10-18-2014, 10:37 AM | #186 | Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: Carlsbad, CA Posts: 47 | I'm Rob's business partner. That's great news. Glad to hear that you noticed a difference when you upgraded the newer car with your kit. Any m42 kits remaining? what do you do about the harness? | | | 02-18-2015, 05:08 PM | #188 | Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: Carlsbad, CA Posts: 47 | We have inventory on M42 COP kits. Unfortunately, the M44 harness is a smaller market so we only sell the M44 harness in group buys of 8 or more harnesses. If you could pull together a group of 8 we can build out a batch of harnesses. Thanks Paul Q HQ Autosport | | | 02-18-2015, 05:19 PM | #189 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: Long Island Posts: 16 | Anyone wanna jump in for M44 GB? | | | 02-18-2015, 07:33 PM | #190 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: Lancaster, PA Posts: 11 | just to clarify that these kits will fit plug n play on E36 m42's?? | | | 02-18-2015, 07:55 PM | #191 | Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: Carlsbad, CA Posts: 47 | It depends. If the car has a coil pack with 4 connectors (one for each cylinder) into the coil pack, yes the M42 COP kit without harness will work. If you want to confirm, send me or post a photo of your coil pack and I will confirm. | | | 02-18-2015, 08:00 PM | #192 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: Lancaster, PA Posts: 11 | | | | 02-18-2015, 08:15 PM | #193 | Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: Carlsbad, CA Posts: 47 | Thanks for the visual. No, cars that use that coil require the custom M44 harness. The COP kit fits on either an M44 or an M42 engine but the wiring for an E30 318is M42 is different which is why it doesn't require a new harness to use the COP kit. This is a photo of the E30 318 M42 coil pack. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E30-318i...-/160718572948 The E30 M42 coil pack takes 4 coil connections one for each cylinder and each connector is the same as the connector that attaches to the separate COP Kit coils. Does that make sense? | | | 02-18-2015, 08:18 PM | #194 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: Lancaster, PA Posts: 11 | so what is the cost for the group buy for the M44 harness? | | | 12-09-2015, 11:53 PM | #195 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Orange County, CA Posts: 2,019 | Do you offer the plates still?
