These sound cheap and nasty to me I must admit, and having no experience og Monroe dampers, whats the opinions? They are a rear pair and very cheap. I think I know what the answers will be........but wanted to confirm! Save your pennies and go with a set of bilstein's.. unless you really need something now. __________________ "You want to know me? KYB are fairly cheap, and are decent. Monroe are cheap and crappy, I've had them before and they are great if you drive a 87 Cadillac Deville, but you're gonna want something with thats a little stiffer (regardless of how you drive). | | | 04-21-2005, 12:26 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | i threw a set of monroes in my jeep--didn't last very long. the stock shocks aren't too expensive, and the bilsteins aren't much above that (check ebay). i can personally vouch for the boge touring shocks, just a little stiffer over stock but still comfortable. FYI, in the states, if you buy the bmw shocks and have them replaced by a dealer, you then have a lifetime warranty on them. definitely worth it in the long run if you plan to keep the car going past 200k miles. | | | 04-21-2005, 12:41 AM | #5 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | 200k? **** ... i'm already there ... 400k here i come! i'll give these bilsteins a good test __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 04-21-2005, 07:35 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Essex UK Posts: 164 | Thanks all I figured as much, being US originated dampers!
