Default ahh....

ahh.... unfortunately I can't afford two cars. I had to purchase a winter car because I wouldn't take my girl out in the winter. I bought a 2001 Passat and really enjoy it. I have been changing to a more casual driver just to and from work, and I really dont need/wan't the speed anymore. I was in my I love cars stage and really enjoyed the car for a couple years. I figure instead of just having it sit around, and I can't afford to have it sit around because I'm TRYING to move out (another horrrrible financial burden way worse then cars) I figure I should let someone else enjoy it.

If I had enough money your damn right I would keep it. Like I said I love this car. Most fun of any car I have ever driven.(around 15) I also just don't have the time to drive like i used to, two hour trips around the fantastic area i live. I would cruise every chance I had. Now all I do is work full time, and overtime. The first thing on my mind now is sitting on the couch and relaxing

Considering that this thread was posted OVER FIVE YEARS AGO... I think your advice is a little late. LOL

Default Thanks...

I just wrote a HUGE post god DAMMIT. It got erased because i needed to "update my profile"

Long story short, thanks for resurrecting the thread. Here were the bullets of a 1 page 30 minute post I wrote

Kid arrives to buy car
kid never drives car
kid "loves the stereo"
kid decides to buy car without driving
I explain he should really DRIVE it before he buys it
he can barely drive the car
he drives away with the ebrake on after signing all papers
smoke pours out of the rear tires after 1 1/2 miles and he pulls over
I walk up to the car and he goes "whoops i forgot to take of the ebrake i knew something was wrong"

I drive away thinking this kid is going to kill himself on the way home...

Nope he mis shifts a few times and over reves the car and blows the engine on the way home.

God I loved that car... Now I'm an adult and have a house a wife and a dog

Posts from when Seth Tilli owned the car right before I bought it and it was featured.

So sad to hear what happened to a nice S/C ti. Should've sold it to someone that would've taken care and appreciate it.

WOW

Just stumbled across this and wish I hadn't. It was much better not knowing what happened to it. I cannot believe some inept tool destroyed my car...

Well, I'm glad you got what looks like 2 years of enjoyment out of it. It was an amazing machine that I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into, literally.

I wish I hadn't read this! So sad.

I'm in a similar spot. I'm getting MARRIED & I don't know if I should keep it. How practical will a modded TI be then?

I'd hate some douch3 doing that to "my" car. . . but when a car must go...

never marry a woman that would allow you to sell your pride and joy just because of her...

I just got married, and if you look at my build thread, she likes my hobby, or well tolerates it very well. Tell her it's like a car payment, and you get around 200-400 bucks a month to spend on the TI. Works for me, eventually it will be money for track events, and speeding tickets. lol

:( BUT I'm the girl & it's a guy{this time} . . . . (I know, what kind of guy etc & so forth) that rather see that lifestyle dissipate. : Realistically I doubt I'll have anytime to track my car etc. All those extra funds are going to mortgage & everything else that's just more important. C'est la vie I guess.
