Old fan never came on except when the a/c was engaged. Discussion here on this site was very helpful when I was trouble shooting the problem. I personnaly would not go back in with a salvage fan. Our cars are old and in my opinion the original fans are on borrowed time even if they haven't lost their low speed capability already. I collect and re-furb vintage fans, and a common problem I find is that low speed capability has died.
