hit and run

i just got my Ti like 3 weeks ago. However, 2 weeks ago, while my car was parked on campus, somebody hit it and drove away. Talk about a ****ty deal.


however, the damage isnt too bad. they hit me in my front grill, the right square is punched in, and there is a dent to the lower right of it. not on the bumper, but part of the peice that runs in between the bumper and hood, that goes around the headlights. i'm going to have to have that replaced most likely. the damage isnt too severe, except they bent in my hood-release, so i can't pop it open. i'm calling my insurance company today, cause i just got out for thanksgiving break, and have a police report already filed.

i was looking in a bavauto catalog i have for stock body parts, and i don't know what that piece is called. i don't know if its considered the "nose piece". if so, that piece is only a hundred bucks, which makes me think it might not be. does anybody have a guess? i checked the other parts, the grill should be about 30 bucks and the hood release is 50 i think. not too bad, but the larger piece is what is worrying me. i'll let you know what happens with my insurance.

to make matters worse, my check engine light is on, but i dont think its from that accident, it came on a few days later, went off, came back on, went off and now its back on again and hasnt left. so i cant check whats wrong since my hood cant pop. do they come on for oil changes? i don't know if they have a sensor for that, but i know i'm due up for one, i'm at 2,300 miles since. thanks guys
