I was considering doing a swap sometime in the future but wasn't sure what all it would take and how much it would cost. Being that we're going from a 4 cylinder to a 6 i would think alot would have to change. Such as transmission, ecu, exhaust etc. What all is required to do this and what kinda price range am i looking at? Labor too since i wont be able to do this myself. | | | 04-02-2008, 08:33 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | There is a ton of information on this site about swapping. Best to do some searching... Price can range from anywhere around 1500 if you get a deal on parts, up to $10k for high end parts and installation. | | | 04-03-2008, 01:23 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | lookin' good, I was tripping out a little when I saw the master cylinder on the right side of the car, took me a little while to figure it out btw, that's some pretty bad rust on your fender, good thing you have a parts car with a good fender I notice you've already swapped the plastic piece on the mirror over | | | 04-03-2008, 08:04 AM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: UK Posts: 9 | Quote: Originally Posted by stuwey08 anyone know any decent places/sites to get a clutch from, iv been looking at the sachs m3 clutch but im not sure yet | www.m3spares.com Email "Russ" enquiries@m3spares.com Hes a really nice guy, i bought my ti from him and lots of spares too. Its not going to make anything faster, in fact I'm sure the M3 unit is heavier than the stock ti unit. Not sure you need a M3 clutch with a 2.8. Just go with a stock 2.8 clutch and your flywheel unless your going to be tracking the car. __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 04-03-2008, 06:17 PM | #15 | Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: lancashire Posts: 48 | thanks, i would of thought that because the clutch was slipping its losing power, so getting the clutch sorted would bring back the power, making the car FEEL faster.? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
