With rainy season just artound the corner, I'm looking to upgrade and saw these on Turner Motorsport's website. Not a bad price, considering the Bosch replacements cost just about the same, just looking for some feedback from anyone who might be using them. Thanks! | | | 11-30-2008, 12:15 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I use Bosch Icon's on both my cars, cost about the same as those, regular wipers like those can get ice packed into the empty spaces and the winter blades with the rubber cover lift at higher speeds EDIT: just noticed you live in SoCal, ice wouldn't be a problem so I guess I'm not very helpful, lol | | | 11-30-2008, 12:52 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | LOL, yeah- ice not so much of a problem here in So. Cal. , and the PIAA's come with a wind spoiler to prevent high speed lift. I think I may just Rain-X the windshield and go with the Bosch. Pretty nice, but keep in mind the windshield is pretty flat. Were it not for road salt, I'd definitely use rain-x and just buy new inserts for your current wipers. You'll probably never need to use them and a set is half the cost of the PIAA/Icon. As for the Icons, does anyone have that problem with them loading up with granular snow? I'm thinking of dumping them this season if it happens again. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 12-02-2008, 05:12 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Memphis, Tn Posts: 1,299 | I have been using Rain-X and never really even use my wipers. I have had the same wipers for two years now. I am thinking of buying another set soon. __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | 12-02-2008, 06:27 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Quote: Originally Posted by Will'sBimmer I have been using Rain-X and never really even use my wipers. Years back, I had a friend with a SAAB that had non-functioning wipers and instead of fixing it, he just put Rain-X on the windshield and it worked awesome, no matter how hard it was raining. | | | 12-16-2008, 01:17 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | Show us a pic of how those new style wipers look on our cars. I'm not sold based on the look alone.
