My dad was thinking it may be worth it to get a new engine because a new car would be so much and we got the car originally for so cheap does anyone know of a good place for an s50 engine and transmission as i need both, I've seen a few on craigslist and ebay but I wanted some other input thanks. | | | 12-03-2014, 05:42 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2014 Location: USA Posts: 444 | Quote: Originally Posted by Aaron_497 Well something in my ti went... not sure what it is yet we are having it looked at but it came down some major issues with either the transmission or engine but anyway. Terrible service and they will do anything to avoid a return. I when there once for some basic parts, and what I heard from the staff as they were fielding calls was horrible. I left without buying anything and found several other places within 100 yards who were much better to deal with... There are at least a dozen BMW dismantle shops in Rancho, find someone who will stand behind their product. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. S52 are for OBDII. it can be done also but you have to source out several parts to convert the engine to OBDI electronics. If I were you, I need to check what's really wrong and try to fix it. Let's assume you will replace with a used engine and you don't the status of the donor engine. The seller will always says, they are selling a good one but are you sure you are buying a good one unless you remove from running condition car. For me, buying a used engine that you don't know the status is a gamble, rebuilt one is OK. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
