In the process of replacing the head gasket, I was wondering has someone replaced the HG without using the cam locking tool? How critical is it? | | | 01-17-2008, 02:01 AM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Richmond, VA Posts: 19 | Head gasket I guess no one has a take on this? | | | 01-17-2008, 02:03 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | I'd like to help you out, but I've got nothing for ya. The cams seem to stay in place with no problems. | | | 01-17-2008, 02:07 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | you could try posting or searching on bimmerforums.. there is a larger group of people in that forum and someone will be bound to know. just my two opinion. sorry i cant help. __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 01-17-2008, 02:24 AM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Richmond, VA Posts: 19 | Its not a big deal, I was curious pulling the head, but its off now. Installing it is imperative, though.
