Default What do you think about this 318ti?

This car is being sold locally. I think it's a bit overpriced. Take into consideration that it's Canadian $. What do you think?

I forgot to say they want $8995 for it. It has a Remus exhaust, upgraded stereo and wheels. Not sure what other upgrades it may have.

233000 km = 145000 mi
$8995 cdn = $7000 us

Yes the car is clean, and has a couple of upgrades, but to me that still translates = too much...

Unhappy

I'm going to offer around $7000 and see what they say. $7000 CAD would be around $5500 US.

$5000 us is the asking price of a comparable ti here in NorCal...

$7k CAD would be a good price IMO, looks like it's in pretty good condition for a 95 (yes, I can tell it's a 95 just by looking at the pics )

I like it, and I'd say 5.5k American is about worth it.

Sorry for the off topic question, but anyone else having problems viewing attachments sometimes? Like these, they show up as the links and the page keeps loading, but never finishes loading, and if I scroll across the link I must open in a new tab, or else the page freezes and I have to go back. Sorry OP, just your thread did it to me (Mozilla Firefox FYI)

I went and looked at this car again yesterday but I have yet to take it for a test drive. I busted my left leg playing the great Canadian sport of hockey a few weeks ago.

I'm going to get one of my friends to take it for a drive. He owns a 740iL, 328, and a Porsche 911, so I think he'll have a good idea what to look for. He also has a lift in his garage so we can put the car up and take a look at it while we are out testing it.

Thanks for all your insite. I'll let you all know how the negotiations went and if I ended up becoming a 318ti owner.

My next option is a 1998 M3 for a bit more money of course......

Whatever upgrades/aftermaket parts are installed in the car doesn't mean the car is worth more. The car is worth what you are willing to pay for it, but it is always a good thing to go and look at Blue Book Values for your area. $5000 US for a 95 is way too much IMO, I paid $3900 for a 96' 318ti Sport in Northern California last year when I bought mine...
And if you have the money for the M3 go for it... cause you'll end up spending more money in the end upgrading and possibly doing an engine swap on the ti to an M3 engine

That's one hell of a ti! $7,000 wouldn't be bad. If you let them sit on it, they will drop it down in the future. But you have to keep a close eye on it, and check back every week or so.

GO REMUS!!! w00t!

I've been keeping a close eye on this ti for about five months. They used to have it listed for $9995 canadian. So they've dropped it a thousand in that time. It's still too high and I told the salesman. He told me to make an offer and they'd see what they could do. I left without giving him any offer, I'll go back in a week and offer them 6000 canadian. See what kind of reaction I get. If they want more I'll demand snow tires and rims.

That sounds like a good plan. Good luck.
