Default Cabin Air Filter Location???

Just bought some replacement filters for my 1995 Ti and the damn things did not come with a diagram. New owner here so I've never replaced them before. The manual doesn't show anything. Does anyone know the location or can e-mail dirrection on the procedure? Thanks

A lot of these DIYs are covered in the knowledge base. Please use the search function as well.

Welcomne to the forum. Also don't buy the ebay cabin filters, I did and in the end they didn't fit. Good luck it's pretty easy reaching the screws may be the hardest thing.

They are right behind the engine. Just pull that long plastic box off in the center of the fire wall that covers the wires and they are right behind there along the fire wall.

I don't think it was difficult getting to the bolts was the hard part.

I thought this was pretty simple. I've had the cover off so many times you would have thought i would have replaced them by now. I just shook em a little and put em back.

+1 I just clean yours off now. No need to buy new ones. Unless your filter is just black and there is no way to clean them.

x2, ebay ones are ****. They don't snap in like the OEM ones, so I had to glue one in, but didn't have time to do the other. So now I"m driving around with one filter

Which ones did you guys buy? There are some on ebay that are $9.95 for the pair, like these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-99...Q5fAccessories

or these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-C...Q5fAccessories

then there are others that are more inline with what I would expect to pay on ebay ($25-30 a pair). FCP Groton sells some on ebay and they have a BMW part number:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-C...Q5fAccessories

I've ordered other parts from FCP groton before for Volvos, VW's, and BMW's and always found their stuff to be either exact OEM equipment or from OEM suppliers. I was looking at these same ones for my BMW, but just wanted to make sure these weren't the ones you happened to buy.

I definitely ordered one of the first two, I'm not sure which. I would go with the third if I were you. From what you said, they'll be what they should be, not crap like I got.
