Question M44 emission and fuel rail changes

M44/Ti guru's

More a curosity question than anything else. Nothing found in a search.

Does anyone know when emission and fuel rail changes took place for the M44? I purchased a fully equipped M44 from a donor 6/96 ti to put into my 10/97 ti. I think the M44 changes over took place 10/96. Upper timing chain cover for the secondary air pump valve, exhaust manifold, fuel pressure reg on the fuel rail, (it's under the car on the 97), and wiring harness. The 96 motor is on the stand, the 97 motor is on the hoist.

No big problem as I will swap over the exhaust manifold, intake manifold, upper timing chain cover and wiring harness as those visually seem to be the difference in components. I have to pull off components anyway to replace plastic and rubber components under the intake.

Does anyone else know of any other M44 differences? I'm thinking and according to realoem the head and block are the same. I'm also looking for a BMW publication release that documents the differences.

Thanks much!

Rich
