Unhappy Meistersatz Wheel Bearings???

Hey, all.

I just received a package from Turner Motorsport, and got a surprise:

I ordered front wheel bearing hubs, which their website claims are SKF, which are great. When I opened the package, the hubs are in boxes with the Meistersatz name on them, and they don't say a brand name on the hubs anywhere!

Meistersatz? They make little rubber bits, but I didn't know them as a bearing maker! Does anyone have information on their quality???

Thanks

Is that just what they used to ship them? Turner's customer support is usually pretty good, they could probably explain.

Thanks for the reply.

After I posted this, Doug at TMS called me on the phone in response to my inquiry email. He said that Meistersatz packages SKF bearings and ships them under their own name. Turner's German distributor sends about half the boxes with each label. Doug said he would be happy to send me SKF packaged hubs, if it would make me feel better, and is going to email me a photo of the SKF hubs and package for comparison.

Does this sound right? I know TMS's reputation, and ...I made Doug promise So I feel OK, I guess.

Interesting that TMS has by far the best price on these hubs. That contributed to my suspicion, I suppose.

Thanks, mohaughn; and Thanks, Doug.

Most quality bearings have the OEM brand laser engraved on one of the races.

If they are not engraved its possible they are not the premium certified bearing. Doesn't mean they are lower quality just means they are tested less frequently than the Name brand packaged units.... SO they may have a slightly higher statistical failure rate. IE 1 in 1000 instead of 1 in 1500 or something like that... (Numbers only for example. )
