Default Need a Favor from a 95 318ti (M42) Owner

Can somebody do me a favor? I think my AFM is bad but I wanted to compare results before I fork out $200+. I did this test with the ignition off and resistance stayed the same. No change whatsoever.

If you repost your picture, I could probably help you out.

The picture was a set of instructions on how to test the Air flow sensor. Here is what the instructions are.

Connect a digital multimeter (Ohms) across terminals 1 and 2. Swing the air flow sensor vane through its travel range. Resistance should change steadily without interruption.

This test should only tike about like 5 minutes. If you can do this for me that would be great.

I probably have mine laying around somewhere - pm me if you want to buy a new/used one that was operating fine when I did the swap.

Hi All,

Was anyone with 1995 318ti able to measure variable resistance across pin 1 and 2 on their Air Flow Meter? I get a constant ~11kohm on the two AFMs I have. I think they are both bad but would like to confirm before I order a rebuilt unit.

Thanks,
Charlie
