Default WTB- M44 stock airbox ('98 stock 1.9L)

Hey everyone, I just picked up a used '98 318ti, but the kid before me installed his own intake straight out of Autozone. Looking for a stock air box and anything else you might have. The original parts left stop right after the intake cross-over tube (above the fan shroud), and pick up again just before the throttle body.

The dreaded previous owner syndrome.

Thanks!
Joe

Default Airbox Hell

I'm in the same boat - got a 1996 but I can't pass California Smog without the stock airbox. Ordered one off Ebay, and I'm still missing a piece. I'm having a hard time figuring it out from photos online - can anyone tell me where I can ge the piece that goes from the 4-bolt opening on the picture below to the MAF housing?

You have the wrong airbox for a 96. That is from a 95 and is for an M42 that uses an AFM instead of a MAF.

I just confirmed this as well. I have a '98, and I found that the '98 Z3 1.9L air box shares the same part number. I found one on ebay and it fit!

I researched the part numbers at www.realoem.com. Very handy website.
