Exclamation WTB BMW or other car up to 6500$ NY/CT

Whats up people. I sold my ti 2 summers ago, and today sold my Acura. So I am car-less and looking for something up to the 6500$ range of course the cheaper the better. All Bmw's, Acura's, Hondas, mercedes, etc.. no american cars. I wouldn't mind a nice 5spd 318ti sport. but am flexiable.

bmw's and porsche's and a few other cars always sell above KBB. But.. Kbb on a decent 318ti is only 2000-2500, this car has 200k.

With this said. No offense but anyone who pays more than 4500-5000 for any year Ti is getting ripped off. Unless the car is a 1999 with super low miles and tasteful mods.

5000$ will buy you a 328 e36 I have seen M3's with 160k-180k for 5000-6000$ You can get a e46 sport package with high miles for under 5000$ so people on here need to wake up. I joined this site like 3 years ago and people are selling their cars for the same price or more.. um values go down not up. ;o)

That being said I want a Ti-- 5spd 120k or less prefer sport package or added sport package look. I know my intial post said 6500$ but I wont spend more than 5000$ on ti after thinking about it.. be in NY CT RI PA..NJ... any further you must deliver to me.

While I do agree that many people on this site way overvalue their Ti's, BMWCCA had an article last year where they were stating that the Ti is one of the few E36s that has maintained it's value over the last few years.

The clubsport is one of the few Ti's that should be selling for around 5k. Realize that mods add absolutely no value to a car, in fact, they usually lower the value of the car to dealers and auctioneers. I still don't understand the fascination people have with the clubsport, as it isn't that different that other 95 model years, and definitely not unique enough to really qualify as a collectible car. Aficionados try to justify that it will be collectible because of low production numbers, but worldwide, the numbers were not as low as many people would have you believe. There may have been a low number of them imported to the US, but that is only because there was a low number of them ordered by dealers. However, the value of a car is ultimately up to what somebody will spend on it.

If somebody has the time to wait on selling a car, they will usually find someone out there that is willing to pay what they are asking for the car. I would really be surprised to find that a clubsport has retained or gained value 20 years from now though. There really is no history to the car to justify it.

All it has is an LSD and M3 mirrors. Hardly anything a few dollars added to any ti can do. And sure there is a sucker born everyday. But we also have to realize who buys the Ti-- it was a 20,000$ car marketed at younger buyers.. younger buyers who can't afford a "real" BMW. And to some extent that is much of who buys the ti today. But those same people can now buy a v6/i6 mainstream BMW for the price of the Ti. Except for better gas miles and hatchback storage- the ti is no match for any 6cyl bmw. The only car is out performs is the regular 318 which is heavier.

It was all about the looks and handling of a BMW at price people could afford.. well HELLO if the ti is now selling at the same prices as 323's 325's 328's etc... 95% of people are not taking a Ti.

When I had my Ti I really enjoyed it except the lack of power. I still have an issue of car and driver or one of those mags somewhere in closest that compared the TI clubsport or sport to the integra GSR back in 94 or 95. And the GSR spanked it in every category. especially 0-60 and 1/4.

I HAD ONE!!!!!! 2001- last year they made them! white, black leather--want some pics?

It was defiantely more modern and faster than the Ti, but i like the way the ti handled FWD vs RWD is really not a good comparison but I guess back in 1994 there were really only 2 near luxuary sport compacts to compare in the 20$k range.
