I'm debating between Recaro SRD or Status Racing(I had a sponsorship with them a few years back and they said they will still give me the price) They are full carbon and wiegh 5.8kg | | | 04-01-2008, 04:08 AM | #2 | Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: McMurray Pa Posts: 78 | and they are Alcantara | | | 04-09-2008, 05:15 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: back in PA Posts: 204 | I was thinking the same thing...except looking at the new Sparco "Steel" seat. I have the non-Sport seats in my ti and the bottom right seat pad is killing my butt. I was thinking about replacing the bottom pad but that costs approx. $80 plus the time to tear the seat apart. Recaro seems to me to be the most $$, Status same price level? | | | 04-09-2008, 06:06 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | are the status seats a hard mount? or can you get sliders? i would go with something that adjusts incase you are on a long road trip and wanan relax or someone else drives the car. these seats also dont recline. unless you are just trackign the car i would go with a seat with a few more adjustments. __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 04-09-2008, 06:30 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: McMurray Pa Posts: 78 | When i had them in my last car they were on sliders. | | | 04-09-2008, 06:33 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | oh then thats not so bad if you are comfortable with the seat not being able to recline. what kind of price can you get for the status seats? __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 04-16-2008, 04:25 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: McMurray Pa Posts: 78 | I can get them for a good deal, don't know if they would want me posting the price online, but they hook me up with everything, hardware and all, for aroudn the price of one. | | | 04-16-2008, 04:40 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | very nice they look like great seats! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 04-16-2008, 04:52 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: San Diego Posts: 340 | I can't say I agree with the unnecessary use of umlauts in any context. FWIW, the weight savings between carbon and fiberglass is negligible, so you may consider trying to save some money there. Recaro has always just "seemed right" in german cars, IMO, Sparco makes good stuff, as does Momo, but of course you pay a premium for premium products and the inherent FIA approval costs on the "real" racing stuff. If you're going for racing shells in a street car, definitely pay extra to get seats that are adjustible. I put fixed shell momos in my corvette, and getting to the battery box (behind the passenger seat) is like the biggest pain in the ass ever. tbw __________________ 1/1997 M44 ti M-Sport Schwartz II | | | 04-16-2008, 05:35 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: McMurray Pa Posts: 78 | thanks for the imput....I agree with the recaros in german cars but if I go with recaro I would like to find some SRD's | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
