Default ECU Fried, another reflashed

Car still isn't running after I got some salty water (from snow) on my DME. I got a replacement, EWS was synced and my TT St3 was moved over but the car still won't run. It turns over and sputters occasionally but it will not start!! Any ideas?

Have DASC.

Pulled fuel rail today, looks like proper injection.
Pulled plugs and saw spark on all of them.

I've got no clue...

Not sure where on the harness to look but the fuse and relay for the DME are fine. Peake and Carsoft say no codes and everything else appears to be working. I tested before the EWS was aligned and I got an EWS code, so it obviously could read EWS.

Take the phillips head screw out of the harness clip and open it up. Clean that with electrical cleaner. Maybe there is salt and moisture trapped in there too. Bad crank position sensor

Only a guess.

You stated you have compression. You have spark and fuel so it should fire.

If your totally stumped and run out of ideas I will send you your old DME with matching EWS module, a remote key ring antenna and matching key, flashed with your dump. I will test it on my car first to ensure it is all working before I send it.

Good luck

John,

I'll keep you updated. I have NO idea what could be going on!! Of course, if that does work you're welcome to my current EWS and DME. I don't have an EWS code but I'll pull the harness apart tomorrow morning when it's light out again and clean the contacts. I don't think they got any water on them but it can't hurt.

Crank sensor is good (no code) and the cam pos sensor should let it run anyhow. I have finals over the next two weeks but after that if I can't figure it out, I guess I'll give it another go with my old DME/EWS if that's alright with you. I can just tape the old EWS transponder inside my steering wheel column so I can still use my keys... haha. New technologies suck!!

I missed your earlier post, but if you disconnected your battery, there will be no code for the crank position sensor..

I don't think it's the CPS. I'm beginning to think the company never moved the whole tune over. I was getting fuel injection for 120-130ms which I think is more than should be on my injectors.

Can do anything but magic unless you believe in it. I have a bench flasher and his old DME and EWS and KEY they are alredy aligned and working as my spare. I have a good dump of his programming so I will just flash that on and test it on my car and he is all set.

Also have good work spare CPS that I will send. I don't think they code until the car starts. If it's buggered in the right way they don't code only PD code

Pat dump your code on that DME and send over email. I will check the Nick's Copy-Right and see if it is Nicks Stage 3. It's located right in the code and can be seen with Hex Edit. I could tell you in less then 10 seconds if you have Original Nick's stage 3 code on you DME after receiving your dump. I can also do a Hex compare to your original to make sure it flashed correctly and all areas are correct on the firmware flash. Let me know I don't check email but once a day if that..

John,

They did move over the copy-right but I think that's it... lol. I won't be home for at least a week though so I won't be able to dump. Nick won't flash my new DME unless I send him my fried DME too which is somewhere in Canada. DOH!

They said??? You check it when you get home. You have a dumper so dump it and check or sent the code to me so I can check the HEX.

And it is not "Technique Tuning Inc. Level DASC STAGE 3"
