Default door kick plate removal

Hello,
I want to replace the rubber door seal mounted on the car body that runs around the edge of where the door fits when closed. Along the lower edge it is underneath the edge of two plastic strips; on the inner edge it is under the edge of the black plastic strip that runs the length of the door sill, hiding the edge of the carpet. On the outer side, there is a black plastic kick plate that is fixed somehow to the sill. It looks like you could pry these up, at the risk of snapping some plastic clips. Does anyone know how to remove these plastic strips safeley, to allow replacement of the rubber door seal and neat re-fixing of the strips?

Thanks.

You only have to remove the inside trim to replace the door weatherstripping. Push forward about 1/2 inch and lift.

aceyx, you are a veritable mine of information. If I understand you correctly, the inner trim panel just slides forwards to release the catches. What about the rear end, by the seatbelt anchor? Just slide along first? Part of me is somehow itching to pull the trim up.
Thanks again for all your tips.

To answer your question about the threshold strip: It is held in place by a series of plastic clips that attach to the bottom of the piece. Place your fingers under the rearword edge and lift up slowly working your way towards the front of the car. There are six or seven clips, when pulled slowly, will release without breakage. They snap into small holes in the threshold sheet metal.
