where is this switch, and is it a manual/mechanical switch, or is it connected to the ignition switch, or.....???

yeah i wondered that same thing.

i havent ever seen any switch to relate to the battery.

i was wondering if it had to to with switching the battery from the truck to the hood.

just a guess
