Would it be a good idea to have all of the donor parts together before ordering the manual?

Not absolutely essential- in fact, it may not be a bad idea to get the manual and read through it a few times and then formulate your plan for donor(s).

But, I ssume you have the ti. What I do in that case is provide the ETM for the ti and when you have a donor, provide that ETM at that time. That usually works well.

jim, next time you print the manual, use a type face that looks like "Times (new) Roman." the serif on the font would make it a million times easer to read.

I use Arial. I personally HATE times new roman... I'd rather use Engravers.

Thnk you for the input, but I will be sticking with Arial. I have been toying with the idea of reducing the font to a lower point size to save paper, but for now I'll keep it big (I think it's 12 point now).

You also have brakes and the rear drive to consider... It is all covered in the manual (and to a large extent here if you search around) which is based on budget, time and ability.

Your manual will be ready when you are!

4.10:1 is a bit steep for me... Glad you got the other stuff sorted out.

I finished my M50 swap in my 316 compact.
Wanted the OEM dual exhaust, bought the wrong one from E34. Back box is HUGE and of course it doesn't fit.
So I just cut all of that exhaust and made something from hand. M50TUB25 stock headers -> x pipe with lambda place -> 2 pipes -> random resonator I found -> 2 pipes -> Y pipe -> and some random compact exhaust I bought from my friend. My main goal was to make it silent while I'm searching for normal exhaust. So, what exhausts are you running? I'm planning for M52B28 exhaust in full length or M50B25. Does the back boxes from standard e36 fits in compact or not?
Probably that M52B28 exhaust will not be as good as on standard e36 because I need to weld X pipe for lambda to fit and that makes the resonance different and the 2.8 resonators probably doesn't work as they should or need to be relocated. Makes you lose some power but probably not that much as my current setup.

P.S - For how much you can buy rear disc brake trailing arms? We sell them here for about 120 euro (trailing arms with bearing and brake calipers). Seems damn expensive for 20 year used part that can be bent etc. Maybe someone can offer anything cheaper? With all the repairs to brakes etc. it costs something like 400 euro to swap from drum brakes to disc brakes in the rear.
P.S.S - Dang it. I misunderstood the topic and post it in the wrong section. Well, I hope someone can relocate it to the right place + answer the question.

Greetings All,
I'm in the final stretch.
I have a no start issue with my swap.
All parts are known to be good / running / operational from their donors.
S52 with OBD-1
1998 318Ti

Engine does not attempt to turn over on key in start position. No solenoid click, nothing
I don't hear the fuel pump on either.

All the electrical seems fine with the exception of the windows, they only work with the key in the aux / accessory position.

I cut the #7 green wire on the chassis side of the engine harness plug, X20, no difference.
Computer is a 413.

Will the manual enable me to get out of the woods?
I consider myself to be competent with this kind of work.
I've swapped a m20 into an e21 and a M50 into an E30, plus other fun...
Thanks

Of all the manuals I have sold, I have only had questions from two people. When I get this feedback, I try my best to incorporate these details into the new versions of the manual, because I'm not always available right away to help you out.

It is quite comprehensive at this point, but I will continue to improve it as best I can with my own experience as well as the experience of others who have done the swap to make the best swap resource as possible.
Hey J!M, is this manual still available? or does anyone know if it still is?
