The reason i'm here is (of course) because i have just bought a manual 1997 318ti. This car just amazes me. It handles better than any other car that i have driven, and its bone stock. I am a bit lacking in the knowledge department though, i know very little about these cars. And by little, i mean nothing lol. I have been around BMWs for a few years now and accumulated some knowledge, as my father owns a 325is and an 850ci, but hardly any of that can be used on the ti. And i was just lucky enough to stumble upon a site dedicated to these unique little cars. So thank you everyone on this board for all of the useful info . I will probably have many questions to annoy you with. And yes, i know how to use the search bar lol. | | | 04-07-2009, 06:03 AM | #2 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum. I know how you feel but there is so much information in the knowledge base that you can spend hours browsing through the various topics. How about some pics!! __________________ | | | 04-07-2009, 01:05 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Beebe, Arkansas Posts: 52 | Hey how's things __________________ And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. I'll see if i can "borrow" my dad's camera for a bit for some nice ones, he's the only one with a decent camera around here. But i actually found this site through the bimmer forums. I thought that might be the best source, but a handy link directed me here. But actually, my dad just snagged the 850ci a few weeks ago. He had been looking around for them a while and one just really conveniently popped up on auto trader, so he jumped on it. Black on Black too, very nice. But i noticed something pretty different (or at least i think) on my ti. It has a california sunroof, any info on this? Did it only come on specific models or something? But then again, talk is cheap. I'll get some pics up as soon as i can. Oh, and thanks for the replies | | | 04-08-2009, 08:00 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Bend, OR Posts: 237 | Quote: Originally Posted by echo It has a california sunroof, any info on this? Some earlier cars with the cali top were "california editions" but I think it was just an option on the 97's. BTW where in WA do you live? My parents live by Walla Walla just wondering if you were anywhere near there. | | | 04-08-2009, 02:34 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Virginia Posts: 242 | Welcome echo!
