So today my car started to buck really bad in first and second gear. It stalls if I turn the steering wheel kind of sharp, and at idle if I try to rev it up it sputters like crazy and shakes the whole car. 3rd through 5th seem fine. To drive it home I just rode the clutch real bad in first and second. It seems to idle okay until I give it some gas. | | | 09-17-2013, 03:00 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Florida Posts: 404 | Bump | | | 09-17-2013, 09:27 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2013 Location: Honolulu, Hawaii Posts: 8 | Mechanic's rule: look at the stuff you last "worked on", you may find yourself there again. No shame, we all learn this way, multiple times. Check your intake hose elbow for cracks, also other hoses which could induce an unmetered air leak. Check the hoses to the idle air control valve, and the valve itself. Bimmers have a habit of clogging the IACV, and it needs to be cleaned. Going to the junk yard Friday to get the arm. | | | 09-27-2013, 09:36 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2013 Location: Honolulu, Hawaii Posts: 8 | Used mount arm okay, but get a new air intake elbow. | | | 09-27-2013, 11:04 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Florida Posts: 404 | Already got one new mounts as well. | | | 09-27-2013, 11:02 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Florida Posts: 404 | Successfully retrieved the motor mount arm today. Glad to hear you were able to sort it all out. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
