Default How does this sound

I just recieved this deal.....please tell me if it worth it:

60,000
1997 - 1999 2.5L engine without cylinder head. I have some external parts including exhaust manifolds, intake manifold, injectors and rail, and a complete wiring harness.

Price: $500

Insert advice here:

Seems reasonable if you need a 2.5...

Reworked head is only ~$1200.00, so $1700 for an engine with a new head seems reasonable to me.

Sounds like a good deal as long as the rest of the engine functions good.

But then there are all the hidden costs of the engine swap. For a not so powerful engine, do the ends justify the means?

I think I'd pass on that one.

I don't think I would go for that motor. I don't think that the power increase would be that good.

I got my M52 & tranny swap done a few weeks ago and I really think you should consider that instead of the M50. I got my whole swap done for 4k including labor and the engine/tranny/E30 diff + it only had 80k miles minus the diff. Just something for you to think about.

The shop that did my swap is MotorSport Recycling in Central NJ if your interested.
