Fuse is fine, bulbs are new. One night, it was really foggy, and they decided to work... that was a month ago, and since, they have not been working again. I've messed with the switch, no idea what to do next. | | | 11-23-2005, 07:53 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Delafield, WI Posts: 471 | The backup light switch was a known problem on my '95, had to replace it about 1 year after buying the car new. Don't know what other years were affected. I would suspect the backup light switch. It's located on the right side of the transmission, and from what I remember, mounted with 2 allen head screws. Have had no reliability problems with the new updated switch. | | | 02-20-2006, 11:37 PM | #8 | Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: So Cal Posts: 70 | Good ole backup light switch... me too. I attempted to look for that thing today... but did not see it.. Any advice on where exactly on the right (or left according to Haynes) side of the tranny it is? I found some wiring that was way up where I couldn't reach. Is it easy to get out? Help! | | | 02-21-2006, 05:57 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Plano Texas Posts: 206 | If your car is a manual like mine then the problem is easy to fix. The switch is located on the drivers' side. It should be the only electrical connection on that side. The opposite side of the oxygen sensor. You just have to disconect the boot and swap out the sensor. Same exact problem that I had, this fixed it and I haven't had a problem since __________________ K&N Cone Filter with Heat Shield, Racing Dynamics Strut bar, Blisten yellow sport suspension, Clears all around, Angel eyes, Dinan Engine Chip, Infinity BassLink 10" Sub, Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel | | | 02-24-2006, 05:28 AM | #10 | Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: So Cal Posts: 70 | There must not be a backup light switch on Auto Tranny? Hmm... that would lead me to believe (using my intuition, and a Haynes manual) that it is the gear selector itself or wiring, cuz the fuse and bulb are good. Now, how the hell do I check that crap? | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
